Many of the newest home blood-pressure machines provide readings that are as accurate as those taken in a doctor's office, according to a recent study from the American Journal of Hypertension. In the study, a group of men and women monitored their pressures for two weeks, using traditional doctor's tools--stethoscope and sphygmomanometer. During the next two weeks, patients in the study used a home monitor. The home monitors turned out to be as accurate and simpler to use.
