Herbs add delicious flavors to foods and reduce the need for adding too much salt. Ask an adult to help you start your own "oinking" herb garden. (Because raw eggs may contain harmful bacteria, ask an adult to do steps 1 and 2 for you.)
You Will Need:
• 3 extra-large eggs
• Waterproof markers
• Potting soil
• Egg carton
• Seeds: tarragon, parsley, and chives
Directions:
1. Remove a quarter-sized hole from the top of each egg. Empty the contents. Rinse well.
2. To kill bacteria, place the eggshells in a preheated oven at 250° F. for 15 minutes. Let cool.
3. Use the markers to draw funny pig faces on the shells.
4. Fill the shells with potting soil and sprinkle different seeds in each one. Set them upright in the egg carton and label them with your marker. Moisten the soil with water.
5. Place your three little pigs in a sunny spot and keep them moist. When they are ready for haircuts, use the herbs in your favorite recipes.
